The Soul Wants You To Grow

“Don’t gain the world and lose your soul: wisdom is better than silver or gold”. -Bob Marley

Many religions, ancient teachings, philosophies, and scientist have acknowledged the existence of the human soul. Therefore, if you follow this belief as well, we can move on! Keep in mind, knowledge paves the path to wisdom. Soon after, our worldview will catch up with the facts!

the current collective soul

The soul represents our entire element of existence. In fact, the soul is not limited to the physical body nor is it tangible to the physical senses. However, all humans have unique souls awaiting discovery. It’s unfortunate many people today choose to never connect with this spiritual understanding to fulfill and live out their divine purpose. Why is this? Free will temptation and distractions in modern western society contribute immensely. The television couch locks us. Our minds are cluttered with mixed messages and images of the world. Mainly fear that predicts doom and gloom. Especially, if we partake in the news and mainstream media narratives. Furthermore, we lead overly busy lives full of obligations and deadlines to meet in order to pay for our material possessions. This tends to create more stress. As the more we have, the harder we must work to pay for these items. Along the way, we lose our sense of purpose. We’re tired. We go through life on auto-pilot. In other words, lather, rinse, repeat! Walking through life with no critical thought. Working a job with no soul fulfillment. We become depressed, stressed, and more fatigued. Then, we take pills, abuse alcohol or drugs to mask the pain. Robot mode fully engaged. But hey, it’s all for the money…lol!

soul development

Since the soul is the basis of our existence, it seems essential to provide it nourishment for our vitality. This starts with getting quiet and getting to know our inner self. In other words, allotting time daily to disconnect from distractions and unnecessary static such as technology and media. I recommend at least 10 minutes per day of sitting in solitude while breathing deeply with the eyes closed. This is more important now than ever before in a world full of infinite information and stimuli. Did you know that our thinking mind produces over 60,000 thoughts per day? In addition, did you know that 85% of those thoughts are the same as the day before? This means, without realizing, we become a prisoner to our habits and patterns because our thoughts drive our feelings and behavior. Therefore, many of us live our lives in the past or the future without understanding the importance and benefits of being mindful and present. Making the transition from being distracted to being present takes practice. Especially, in a world full of endless information at our fingertips. Have you ever been guilty of looking at your phone while someone’s talking to you? If so, you are lacking presence and our soul yearns for this!

Intuitively, human beings are aware of their soul. This is why we listen to music when we’re sad, continuously search for that perfect job we’d love, date until we find a soul mate, etc… However, because the soul is not locatable or measurable, it takes a leap of faith to connect. In reality, it exist in the emotional field of love. The soul within you, is a piece of the creator. It wants to evolve. It craves love, compassion, knowledge, wisdom, experience, joy, laughter, and most importantly, a connection with you!
